Audio Restoration and Preservation

The BluWave Audio Restoration Department is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of audio in a manner that maintains the integrity of the original film.  Our teams of editors and mixers have worked on hundreds of classic films and television shows not only from our own Universal vaults, but for clients from around the world.  Our work has been shown at various film festivals around the country and many titles showcasing our audio work are available to consumers on Blu-ray and DVD. 

We pride ourselves on using the most advanced audio tools and techniques available to repair or reduce various problematic anomalies embedded in damaged and worn audio tracks.   

Our state of the art Restoration suites include:

• Dynaudio 5.1 monitoring

Our Restoration services include:

• Digitization of elements at sample rates up to 96k

• Removal or reduction of crackle, pops, bumps and other anomalies
• Broadband Noise Reduction (including hiss, hums, background set noises such as generators and A/C)
• Sample rate conversion, pitch correction and vari-speeding if necessary.
• Editorial and conform to picture
• Multi-channel (5.1/7.1) Upmixing
