BluWave Audio

BluWave Audio, a division of Universal Studios Sound Department, is an 18,000 square foot facility dedicated to Digital Mastering, Preservation/Restoration, Sound Transfer, Digital Archival and TV Mixing. BluWave Audio features two large studios, five mixing suites, a digital media conversion room and three Sonic Studio editorial suites. In addition, there are four rooms equipped for quality control and transfer services.

All of the rooms were designed by Jeff Cooper & Associates and equipped with 5.1 monitoring. Studios A and B feature Harrison Series 12 digital consoles. The DVD Mastering and Transfer suites are equipped with Digi-Design ICON consoles. The Transfer rooms are designed to provide high confidence in quality control while making audio and video copies in all formats. The audio restoration rooms focus on Sonic Studio Sound Blade NoNOISE™ digital audio workstations for frame-by-frame audio restoration. Outboard equipment includes devices such as Cedar processors and plug-ins for Digidesign's Pro Tools.
