Dave Beanes

Senior Vice President, Production Services

Dave Beanes was promoted to Senior Vice President of Production Services, Universal Operations Group in May 2001. He has the overall responsibility for the departments that support production on the Universal lot; including backlot operations, stage management, set lighting, grip, electrical, transportation, stock units, property, graphic services and costume. He oversees relations with third party and internal production entities. Beanes reports to Jim Watters, President and General Manager, Universal Operations Group.

Previously, Beanes had been Vice President of Production Services, Universal Operations Group, since January 2000.

Before joining the Universal Operations Group, Beanes served as Vice President Television Production for Universal Television from 1995-97 and Vice President Television Production, Studios USA Television from 1997-99. Prior to that, he held a variety of producing, co-producing and production management roles on numerous motion picture, television and commercial productions. These include the films Back to the Future II and III and 3 O’Clock High; and the television series, Rockford Files, Murder She Wrote, Amazing Stories, the revival Alfred Hitchcock Presents series, Scene of the Crime, Street Hawk, Magnum, P.I., Harper Valley and BJ and the Bear.

Beanes began his career in television news where he eventually rose to Director of KABC-TV’s 6PM newscast.

In his current position, Beanes’ has become a valuable resource to the production community. His extensive production background provides the needed expertise to help filmmakers accomplish their goals.
