Director – Operations & Engineering

Harvey Landy was promoted to Director of Operations & Engineering, Universal Studios Digital Services in 2007. He oversees Color Correction, Editorial, Duplication, Encoding and Engineering under the leadership of Michael Daruty, Senior Vice President, Technical Operations.

During his time at Universal Studios, Landy has worked on such high profile projects as Scarface (20 Anniversary Edition), Dawn of the Dead, Casino, Seabiscuit, L.A. Confidential, and Jaws (25th Anniversary Edition). He has played an integral part in expanding internal servicing and has led technology achievements to expand and grow in several fields, including editing, film transfers, color correction, encoding, and server technology.Landy led the integration of high definition editing, color correction, duplication, server-based workflows and, most recently, file-based content fulfillment into the spectrum of facility services. He has spearheaded Six Sigma process improvement projects for 2K Data Workflow and Tapeless Server-Based Workflow that reconceived the post production workflow process for maximum efficiency.

Landy joined Universal Post Editorial in 1997 as a Supervising Editor and was promoted to Director of Technical Operations in 2005. He came to Universal from 4MC where he worked as an editor. Prior to 4MC he was an editor at Hollywood Digital. Landy received his BA degree in Radio, Television and Film with an emphasis on Engineering from Cal State Northridge.
