Kirsten Smith

Director – Feature Sound Services, Universal Studios Sound

Kirsten Smith joined Universal in August 2006, to coordinate the sales activities of sound services for feature motion picture films. Smith is responsible for developing new sales strategies for independent markets; packaging internal and external mix and editorial services for feature films, along with coordinating personnel assignments and day to day customer service for the Universal Sound Department.

Prior to joining Universal, Smith served as Managing Director of Todd AO’s scoring stage for features since 1992. At Todd AO she was responsible for business development and sales at the independent post-production scoring stage, instrumental in acquiring contracts for scoring such major features as The Lion King, The Shawshank Redemption, Titanic, Apollo 13, Troy, A Beautiful Mind, All The Kings Men and Superman.

A graduate of Trebas Institute of Recording Arts in 1989, she worked at Evergreen Recording Studios where she developed and implemented business strategies for television, album recording, and feature projects.
