Ron Silveira
Vice President of Administration and Client Services, Universal Studios Digital Services
Ron Silveira joined NBC Universal in July 2004 as Vice President of Universal Studios Digital Services. Silveira currently manages client services and administration for Universal Studios Digital Services, overseeing over 75 employees. Universal Studios Digital Services provides post production services for various NBC Universal departments, Universal Home Entertainment, Television Distribution, Feature Marketing and third party production clients. Services include: film transfers and scanning, color correction, editing, duplication and conversions and quality control. He is responsible for services related to studio mastering and duplication, production servicing and developing future growth opportunities. He reports to Michael Daruty, Senior Vice President of Technical Operations.
Prior to joining Universal, Silveira served as COO of the Post Group for nine years. While at the Post Group, he was responsible for the visual effects division and the Digital Film Group, during the creation of digital visual effects for such titles as Titanic, Independence Day, The Man in the Iron Mask and Swordfish. He also created a design group, Momentum Lab, which focused on commercial work and feature titles. He assisted in developing high definition services for feature film and television markets, which included a digital intermediate process for creating a digital negative and high definition masters from data.
He has held a variety of positions; including President of Compact Video/Image Transform and President of Unitel Video, a full service film and video facility offering online/offline editing, telecine, graphics, and design.
Silveira received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his MBA from Willamette University, Salem, Oregon.
He is a member of SMPTE and past President of the former post production trade association, ITS.
