Scott Hecker

Supervising Sound Editor/Designer and Executive Director, Sound Editorial Department

Scott has worked in the field of Motion Picture Sound Editing/ Design for the last 30 years, and has worked at Universal Studios since 2002. He is currently the Executive Director of the Sound Editorial Department at Universal Studios, where along with his management responsibilities, he continues to work as a Supervising Sound Editor/ Designer on many high profile feature films.

In 2003, he was nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Sound Editing category for his work on Road to Perdition, and has won four Motion Picture Sound Editor’s Golden Reel Awards.

After working as a sound editor on The Empire Strikes Back, and the Academy Award winning sound editing team for Back To The Future, Scott has gone on to supervise the sound editing and design work for such highly esteemed directors as Robert Towne, Marty Brest, Sydney Pollack, Ron Howard, Paul Verhoeven, John McTiernan, Sam Mendes, Steve Zaillian, and most recently,  Zack Snyder. Some of his credits include 300All The King's Men, The Interpreter, Road To Perdition, The Cooler, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Meet Joe Black, Flesh And Bone, Basic Instinct, Total Recall, U2's Rattle And Hum and Three O'Clock High.

He attended the University of Akron, majoring in Mass Media Communication and Political Science.

Scott is a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, The Motion Picture Sound Editors, and the Motion Picture Editor’s Guild.
